One way of supporting ongoing social justice efforts and artists of color is to purchase art that supports important change making causes around inequity.
Titus Kaphar is the founder and President of arts organization NXTHVN. This week June 15th, his work was featured on the cover of Time Magazine. You can purchase the cover here. Proceeds from cover sales of this issue will benefit Black-led organizations like NXTHVN, with a commitment to advancing justice.
On this special cover of TIME, American artist Titus Kaphar’s oil painting Analogous Colors features an African-American mother holding her child, whose image has been cut out to depict a mother’s loss.
For the first time in its history, TIME’s signature solid-red border is changed to include the names of 35 victims of police violence who have helped fuel the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement.
